Forty Years of Silence
An intimate story transformed into a work of memory, resilience and legacy.
Drawing on Jeannine’s testimony, the project brings together a novel and a narrative album in French, English and Reunion Creole. It neither judges nor dictates. It seeks to illuminate while leaving each person free to hear their own echoes.

Each project begins with a voice, a memory or an emotion searching for its form. John Legacy first takes the time to preserve what makes it singular, before opening it to other sensibilities.
Writing establishes the narrative thread; music gives it breath; image carries what words cannot always express. This collective creative process brings writers, performers, musicians, filmmakers and visual artists together around one intention: to pass stories on without fixing their meaning, and to illuminate without imposing.
The works develop gradually through experiments, conversations and choices designed to protect the emotional truth of each story. Rooted in Reunion memory while reaching towards a wider human experience, the projects connect the intimate with the universal and one generation with the next.
The Creative Journal documents this process, while the Works page presents the literary, musical and visual worlds in development. Visitors can discover not only the finished work, but also the human path that brings it into being.
